If your brakes feel weak or spongy, then check the following:

Brake fluid level

Check the brake fluid level. Top up if necessary.

Contaminated brake fluid

In case of fluid contamination, drain all the brake fluid in the system and refill with new brake fluid. Bleed brakes to remove any air in the system.

Worn brake pads

Damaged brake hose

If the brake lines have been damaged in any way, air can get in the system and will cause the pedal to feel soft, spongy or a long pedal travel. 

Inspect all the brake lines and replace and lines that are damaged.

Incorrectly fitted brake pads

Check the pads are fitted correctly.
